Thank You, Halton: October 2026

Schools, churches, residences, families and young neighbours gave food, essentials and their time this October. Here is what they did, in our own words of thanks.

Thank you

To every school, group, family and neighbour who gave to Compassion Society of Halton this October

Burlington, ONHalton shows up for Halton. This October, schools, churches, residences, families and young neighbours gave food, essentials and their time, and the people we serve felt every bit of it. Thank you.

Our Fall Market

The Fall Market held during the past week at the Compassion Society offered clients the opportunity to choose some special gifts for themselves! There were a wonderful variety of donated items to choose from, including cozy wraps and quilts, slippers, backpacks and purses, perfume and aftershave, home decor, beauty and makeup, and more!

A big thank you to all the donors who make these programs possible and to the terrific volunteers who made it all happen! We couldn’t do it without you!

Fern Hill School

What an incredible show of generosity from Fern Hill School! Their recent food drive brought in an amazing 880 lbs of food for Compassion!

As we approach the end of the year, this generous donation will help us meet the needs of individuals and families right here in Halton. We’re so grateful to Fern Hill and everyone who helped make this food drive such a success. Your kindness makes a real difference in our community!

Pearl & Pine Retirement Residence

A big heartfelt thank-you to Mariellen and everyone at Pearl & Pine Retirement Residence for their incredible generosity and support! The residents came together to organize a clothing drive and raise funds to purchase 35 lbs of much-needed children’s socks, contributing an amazing 511 lbs of donations!

Thank you, Pearl and Pine residents, for thinking of Compassion and for showing how much good can happen when a community comes together to help others.

Young neighbours leading the way

At Compassion, we are always inspired to see younger generations taking the lead in making the world a kinder place. A huge thank you to two young neighbours who led a food and clothing drive in their neighbourhood for the third year in a row, with the wonderful support of their mother. This year, they donated an incredible 220+ lbs of donations to help make a difference in their community.

Your efforts remind us that positive change can begin at any age.

The Cute Friends

Thank you to the Cute Friends and all the moms for your generous donation of 64 lbs of food! It was wonderful meeting everyone and welcoming you to our facility for a tour. We loved connecting with you and sharing a little more about the work we do in our community.

St. Gabriel CWL

A big thank-you to the CWL at St. Gabriel Burlington Church for their generous donation of 33 lbs of new underwear! New underwear is an essential item that is often overlooked in donations, yet it is a much-needed necessity for the individuals and families we serve.

Thank you for thinking of Compassion and for your kindness and generosity!
